Summary Season 2021 by Chairman Steve Woodsford

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT:

“175 years old.  A great achievement, particularly when a lot of clubs have either folded or amalgamated over the years.Prior to the move to the current ground the club played on Frenchay Common, which must have been a great place to play with large numbers of spectators.

Whilst our celebrations have been hindered by the pandemic, we have enjoyed a great year with games against an MCC team, a B&D representative side and a Frenchay legends team.  Thanks to everyone who has helped make the season a memorable one.

In the league this year, it has to be said, results have been disappointing.  The first team faded in the second part of the year to end up in mid-table.  The seconds were relegated, in spite of a great effort in their final game.

The bright points were the promotion of the third team and the fact that we fielded a fourth team every week.  Congratulations to Josh and his team.

Here’s to the next 175 years.
